Our Work

THE VISION-

Peace is coming and we have a part in the restoration process! We plan to develop a model community serving northern Uganda by doing the work of the church. The community will include: a church, seminary, hospital, homes for orphans, camp/retreat center, and agricultural/fishery projects.

God is establishing His kingdom in Northern Uganda at Restoration Gateway through these current ministries:

Children’s Ministry:  Children’s ministry takes place each Sunday.  The children sing together, learn a Bible story, and memorize a verse each week.

Daily Discipleship Training:  At the beginning of each work day (six days a week), almost 50 Ugandan workers and all who live on site gather for one hour to worship God, pray and share/proclaim God’s Word for the day.

Weekly Cell Groups:  Every Thursday, our daily discipleship training group splits into smaller groups to study scripture and pray together.

Evangelism:  Daily evangelism is done with all workers onsite through team participation.  The Jesus video is shown onsite and in local villages to both large and small groups.

Community Health Evangelism (CHE):  Restoration Gateway is implementing Community Health Evangelism (CHE), which is a holistic mission strategy that integrates disease prevention, community development, evangelism and discipleship through local churches as God’s instrument for individual and community transformation.

Ugandan Pastoral Ministry and Care:  Restoration Gateway is connected to Ugandan communities through a ministry to pastors and their families. Financial support is provided as well as an open-door policy to pastors who may want to stay at RG.  Pastors have participated in personal/corporate retreats.

Monthly All Night Prayer:  Employees, on site residents, fellow believers and pastors join together once a month for all night prayer and fasting.

Corporate Fasting:  The RG long-term residents participate in corporate fasting.  Restoration Gateway employees and residents onsite also share in times of group fasting.

Bible Distribution/Spiritual Resources:  Bibles are provided at a reduced rate to provide  easier access for Ugandans.  A library of spiritual resources is being compiled.

Marriage Counseling:  Marital counseling is ongoing at Restoration Gateway.

Team Retreats:  The first annual Restoration Gateway retreat involving employees and on site residents was held in November 2007.  RG long term team residents, along with 2 U.S. board members, joined each other in a retreat in March 2008.

Volunteer Ministry: Over 100 volunteers primarily from the USA have participated in various kinds of ministry at RG and surrounding communities.  Much physical work has been done, many lives have been touched by the Gospel, and many volunteers have been blessed.
