Mary Ann Thomas

A graduate of Baylor University with a B.A. degree in Drama and Spanish, Mary Ann later applied her B.A. to a B.S.N. degree and became a registered nurse. She worked part-time in university nursing and later with the City of Waco in the areas of employee health and with the McLennan County Health Department. After retiring from nursing, she became actively involved in the neighborhood outreach ministry of Highland Baptist Church, organizing classroom volunteers at Dean Highland Elementary School and directing HOPE Ministry, which offers ESL, Citizenship, GED, and children’s classes to a largely Hispanic population. Mary Ann served as chair of the Missions Committee of Highland for several years and in 2011, visited Restoration Gateway and saw firsthand the McCalls’ developing vision. Married to Bill Thomas, Mary Ann is a devoted mother of two grown children and grandmother of 5 grandchildren.
