After months of waiting, Restoration Gateway has been approved to officially begin orphan ministry. Of course, God’s timing is always perfect, and we thank each of you for your prayers, encouragement, and gifts that have been instrumental in this process. We are now ready to receive at least 56 children. Please pray with us as we identify children, moms, social workers, teachers, and other needed personnel. We know that God already has specific people in mind. Thank you for partnering with us as we rejoice and praise God for furthering His Kingdom in northern Uganda.

We have seen God provide this summer at Restoration Gateway for ...

We have seen God provide this summer at Restoration Gateway for almost 200 volunteers who have done construction, evangelized across northern Uganda as well as here locally in surrounding villages, and ministered to us and our workers. Through this, hundreds have made professions of faith in Jesus as Lord, and new churches have been planted. Volunteers have also donated enough this summer to build the eighth orphan home, which we are clearing land for now. The 24,000-liter water tower is up and functioning, providing indoor water to all the orphan homes. A new satellite dish has been installed and is up and functioning. The school auditorium/gymnasium is progressing well and now houses our church (256 in attendance last Sunday who are primarily previously unchurched people), has hosted hundreds to watch the Jesus film, witnessed scores baptized in the newly completed baptistery built in the stage floor, and excited 260 primary Ugandan school children who came to learn how to play basketball and do VBS. All of these things have happened even before the building is completely finished, as no doors are installed yet and windows are being installed now. We can hardly wait to see what God does when the library and computer lab are functioning. RG has been given a brand new Kubota tractor with many implements in a container that brought literally more blessings than we can receive. How amazing to experience God’s generous heart.

Still standing against government graft that has blocked our official registration of the orphan homes and prevented us from legally taking orphans, we are very aware of the spiritual battle raging in this place. So, while seven homes are ready to house orphans and four moms are trained to take care of them, we await God’s resolution to the graft problem with the local probation officer, thus granting us approval to take those who so desperately need help. This has been a difficult thing to understand, but we feel very strongly that God has not just called us to care for orphans………..but to also stand for His righteousness. Much time has been spent meeting with top district officials, and just last week our papers were submitted to the central ministry in Kampala. Because this is part of God’s vision for northern Uganda, the victory is already His. In a little over two years of “boots on the ground”, God has established this place as a gateway for restoration and provided all that is needed to see His kingdom advance. To Him be all the glory!! Please join us in thanking Him.

To those of you who have participated by coming and those of you who have so faithfully given in many, many ways, we offer our deep gratitude. Thank you for partnering with God. Many dear friends have specifically provided times of getaway for both of us when needed. To those of you who are preparing to come, we say “buckle up”, because God is moving as only He can. To those of you who are thinking about participating, we say there is still much that God has prepared for us to do, so jump on in. ”Don’t lose heart in doing good.”

May God’s richest blessings come to each of you.

Yours in Christ,
Tim and Janice

Praise God! While drilling for wells last week, we hit water!!! We now have two wells, that are producing 2.5 times the projected need for the life of the project- 12,800 liters per hour. It is so like God to give us exceedingly above and beyond what we think that we need, isn’t it?!

Dear Family and Friends,
Greetings from Uganda! We pray ...

Dear Family and Friends,

Greetings from Uganda! We pray all is well with each of you.

We have been drilling wells all week that your generous donations and prayers have made possible. The first borehole produced little water and was then totally spoiled when they dropped 53 meters of casing down the 89 meter borehole and could not retrieve it. The second borehole produced 2,800 liters per hour which was half of our projected needs for the life of the project. Then the third borehole was done without extra cost according to our contract if we did not get the needed 5 liters per hour from the first two drills. This third drill produced 18,000 liters per hour, but this was reduced to 10,000 liters per hour because of difficulty getting the casing in. Still with a capability of producing 12,800 liters per hour this is 2.5 times what we need as far as water. We are way blessed and we are so grateful for your part in this huge blessing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

We have also been greatly blessed by having one of our workers receive a 25,000 dollar heart surgery for free to correct a critical valve stenosis. He is making an uneventful recovery.

God is sooooooooooooooooo good. Have a great day.

Love,

Janice and Tim

P.S. Please pray that we will know the
best way to store and distribute this water.

Just a quick praise. We had about 150 people at devotions this morning to interview for six jobs at Restoration Gateway. We had 27 professions of faith even after we announced beforehand that their decisions would have no bearing on job acceptance. Pray that we will have wisdom in conserving the harvest. Praise God for more mature Christians that have come and are coming to help in discipling God’s new family.

Blessings,
Tim

Ben D’Ardenne returns from his 2 month stint to Uganda. What does someone who has been in Africa have to say after 2 months? “I realized that I am living my dream. Ever since I decided to follow Jesus in 8th grade my dream was to go and be a missionary in the jungles of Africa living in a hut. While the 500 acres I live on is not jungle, I am living in a hut in Africa in order to share Jesus with the people here. I guess that dream was something God put there.”
