Missionary Family (Uganda)
The Schwedock’s path to Restoration Gateway has been long, but straight. RG has held a place in the their hearts since Tim and Janice first began this journey with God roughly 11 years ago. Until now, they were called to pray and give; they are excited they’ve now been called to go and serve.
The Schwedocks are excited to begin serving at Restoration Gateway Hospital! Nick is a family physician who will be working in the hospital and also involved in medical education. Jade, a registered nurse, will be working in the hospital and helping with administration. The Schwedocks feel Jesus’ desire is for the hospital to be a place of hope, where people receive not only physical restoration, but also spiritual restoration where all who pass through its doors would know true hope through Jesus.
Nick and Jade have been married since 1991 and have four children. Anna, their youngest, will be joining them at Restoration Gateway and will be finishing her senior year of high school in Uganda while serving as the official photographer for RG. Their older children, Nicholas, Sarah and husband Drew, and Rebekah will remain in the States working and continuing their education. They will be part of the stateside team, visiting RG as they are able.
Dr. Schwedock is board certified in Family Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. After residency, he was in private practice for a time, later accepting a faculty position with the Waco Family Medicine Residency Program, where he was active in teaching full-spectrum family medicine, in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including operative obstetrics. He was also active in the residency program’s global health track as well as instrumental in starting a sports medicine fellowship.
